Gone Poker Fishin’

We have a term, in poker lingo, for people who are considered “easy-money.” If poker is a game for the sharks, then we all have to eat. And seeing as how no shark is a vegetarian, the only thing left for us to eat is the fish.

Good for you, that these fish like to flop out of the water, making them really easy to catch, and even tastier the fatter they (or their wallets) are.

Maybe you can think back to one of those pokergames, you remember that one guy who seemed to have bottomless bank accounts, and just kept giving away his money. Or at least that’s what it looked like. Well my friends, these are our food, our fish.

They come in two flavors; there’s the fat fish you want to keep in your own personal aquarium, and the one who just hasn’t evolved to survive in the ocean.

We’ll talk about the fat fish first. This is your business man type, your not-too-serious-about-playing-and-is-just-here-for-a-good-time type of player. He enjoys the game for the game, not so much for the money involved. He likes cutting up with the crew, just hanging out with everyone and isn’t one to pout or complain too much if he’s losing. After all, it’s just cash to him. And if you’re just looking to have fun and enjoy the game, it should be that to you too.

But I digress, it’s not about the philosophy of money, it’s about the pokerfish. So, carrying on. These are the type of fish you like to have your aquarium stocked with. If you’re hosting a poker game, it’s good to invite this person, for he’ll make a lot of people happy giving up his money.
