Perfume Tips & Tricks

Posted in Beauty

Fragrances can often reflect our mood and personality. A certain scent on a good friend may smell quite differently on you as each fragrance reacts differently according to our own chemical makeup.

When testing a perfume in a store, be sure to wait about 10 minutes to allow the fragrance to react to your body chemistry before buying it. Smell it after the first application and then smell it again after waiting. This allow you to sample both the top and middle notes of the scent and give you a good sense of how the fragrance will linger throughout the day.

Be sure to limit how many fragrances you try at one time at the store - stick to just 3 or 4 at a time. Otherwise your olfactory senses may become overwhelmed and you may not be able to tell one perfume from the other!

If you are concerned about an allergic reaction, wait about an hour or so after sampling the perfume. If no reaction occurs by that time, it is probably safe to go ahead and splurge on that new perfume!

Always apply fragrances directly to your skin or hair, as some fragrances (especially parfums and eau de parfums which have a higher concentration of oils) may cause discoloration on certain fabrics. Never spray fragrances directly on silk - it will damage it!

If you like to spritz a bit on your clothing, be sure to test it first on hidden area such as an inner lining before spraying it all over yourself! This is especially true for delicate fabrics and “dry clean only” clothing.

I suggest changing your fragrance depending upon the season. In other words, go for lighter scents during the hotter weather and keep the stronger scents for the drier, cool weather. Heat intensifies the scent, so there is no need to douse yourself in a heavy scent during the summer. And if you are outdoors, be aware that bees, wasps, hornets, and other flying bugs are attracted to flowery fragrances (which is another good reason to stick to light, clean scents!)

Speaking of heat, if you want to keep that favorite perfume as fresh as the day you bought it, keep the bottle in a cool, dark place. Keep the bottle in it’s original box, if possible. You may even want to keep it in the fridge, so you can have a refreshingly cool spritz of your perfume before heading out for the day!

Professional Makeup Artists Not Just For Celebrities: How to Choose One

Posted in Beauty

Liz Taylor has always had them, and so do the new crop of film femmes. In fact they rarely go anywhere without them. They are personal makeup artists. And they are the latest Hollywood elite to come along. In fact many are upstaging the personalities signing their paycheques. Five years ago, few people knew the name Kevyn Aucoin, the famous artist to the stars who passed away in 2002. But now, you often hear either a name like Kevyn’s, or star artists Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier, who have their own cosmetic lines, or you witness a celebrity thank their makeup artist during awards broadcastseither way, we are getting the message loud and clear that professional artists are lurking behind the famous faces we dream of having.

Most women can transform themselves with the flick of a well-directed makeup brush. And they can get professional help. In fact, just “internet” your way to “google”, type in makeup artist and you are on your way. Freelance makeup artists who come directly to your home abound, not just in major city centres but all over now. The training and hatching of seedling artists is on the rise big time, as the nation’s focus on beauty continues to escalate.

Maybe you’ve been so busy planning your hair, nails, massages, waxing, and facial appointments to think of how a makeup artist can add the icing to your beauty cake, but why all the fuss if you are left with a squeaky clean but blank canvas? Think about how an artist can turn your entire look around with a specialized makeup lesson tailored just for you. No time to master the skill for ongoing “do-it-yourself” applications? Then have an artist on speed-dial for those dinner parties, client meetings or impromptu get-togethers. You just need to know where to find them and how to know if they are worth their weight in lipstick.

Not all artists are created equal. To find an artist to come to you, follow a few key guidelines. Find someone who is trained by a reputable school or program known for specializing in the art of makeup not cosmetics sales. Watch out for artists who’ve been trained to sell products and who only use one line of makeup on you. You’ll be up against a big sales pitch to drop a lot of cash on products you end up shelving later because you break-out or your face rejects the horrific colour choices. Also ask to see photos of an artist’s workpreferably pictures from professional photographers who are fussy about the artists they work with. Expect the artist to speak with you before your appointment about everything that will make your session together successfulskin care, your colouring, your makeup preferences, the products and shades you currently use, your skin condition, the reason for getting together and what you want to get out of the makeover.

Beyond makeup, a great makeup artist doesn’t just show you where the colour goes. She looks at you and sees the shape of your face and how to showcase its featuresshe can tell you how to shade and highlight areas to make them stand out or disappear, how to shape your brows to suit your face or to make your eyes seem further apart or closer together, how to line your lips to reshape and balance their look, and more. A great makeup artist also looks at a clean face and sees the finished product. The transformations can be theatrical.

How To Be Fabulously Rich

Posted in Beauty

The word “rich” comes from the root word for “reach”.

You are rich when you can reach out.

The first type of reaching out is a personal one.

You have to reach beyond your limited understanding.

When you expand your thinking of what is possible for you, you are reaching out.

When you expand your knowledge of how to do anything, you are reaching out.

And when you expand your physical energy and improve your skills, you are reaching out.

This kind of reaching out improves your chances of getting rich.

Getting rich, however, is never done in isolation.

The marketplace is a dynamic interplay between buyer and seller, between consumer and supplier. It is a relationship.

Thus, your reach has to extend out to your customer.

It has to give the customer what he or she needs and that satisfies that customer. The satisfied customer will then reach back for more of what you can provide.

Then your reach has to expand to more and more customers.

This multiplies the power of your reach.

Also, you can reach out to expand your industry more and more.

Or, you can reach out into other marketplaces for multiple income opportunities.

Thus, you can reach either deeper or wider.

Those who reach out are rich.

When you increase your reach, you increase your sales.

You can begin the process of inviting riches into your life by working on improving your reach.

It’s simple isn’t it?

Use Your Vibrations of Energy to Communicate Part 2

Posted in Beauty

“The speed of electromagnetic energy signals is 186,000 miles per second, while the speed of a diffusible chemical is considerably less than one centimeter per second.” -Bruce Lipton

As electromagnetic spectrums of energy we have a unique energy signature. This force can enable us to achieve what we believe. Consider the placebo effect where people took sugar pills and were cured of their illness because they believed they would be.

Through out history we have heard, ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, if only you believe. To tap into this and change your beliefs, it is important to realize that we do not see the world as it is. We see it as we are.

That is the first step. I have heard it said that to create change, most often belief modification is required more than behaviour modification.

Just about every success story that I have read, talked about being in a mastermind group. It is considered one of the great success secrets of all time. Quantum Physics explains why. When you come together with like-minded people you are around those of the same frequency. When these waves overlap, the combined force amplifies resulting in a higher amplitude. This is called a Constructive Interference.

However, when you are around people that are not like you, it creates destructive interference. The two frequencies are out of phase and the waves become mirror-images of each others. This causes each wave to cancel each other out. Which cancels out the energy. Have you ever felt drained around some people? This is why.

John Assaraf states that he no longer will hang around negative people and that he most often runs from them.

We have the power and the ability to focus on what we want and attract it into our lives. Sure, there is some training necessary to break away from past beliefs and habits, but isn’t it worth it in the end?

“All organisms, including humans, communicate and read their environment by evaluating energy fields” -Bruce Lipton, “The Biology of Belief.”

One area that is important to look at is your biology and cells. Now you may be wondering, what quantum physics and biology have to do with one another. Many biologist used to think, nothing. However, more and more are seeing the amazing connection.

Each of the cells has a receptor antenna and they can read vibrational energy fields. These include light, sound and radio. More importantly, if the energy vibration resonates with the receptor antenna, it can alter physical and chemical properties of an atom, which will alter the receptor.

You see, our cells are always “reading” the environment in order to survive and can be physically be altered to protect ourselves or help ourselves grow based on our perceptions of the environment around us.

To enhance themselves, atoms find vibrations that create harmonic resonance. Remember the mastermind group. At the cellular level, when we are on a path to growth, we are healthier around those that are on a positive path to growth as well.

It is also important to look at our emotions in how we view the world and whether we hang on to resentments. Dr Candice Pert wrote a book called, “The Molecules of Emotions.”

Dr Pert showed how our emotions affect how we think, feel and behave on an ongoing basis. Also, how our perceptions are of the world, creates these emotions at the cellular level.

Our emotions are made in the cells of the body and brain through a chemical binding to specific receptors on the surface of the cells, which are based on how our cells perceive our environment and act on it.

It is also here where unexpressed emotions are stored. Unexpressed emotions in the receptors squeeze off the food that the cell needs to function. This breaks down your ability to think and see things clearly.

Also consider that there is not one new function in our body that is not already in the cell. The cell has a nervous, skeletal, circulatory, integument (skin), reproductive and immune system.

This also shows the connection to the holographic world where the all of it is in every bit of it, and every bit of it and in the all of it. We are all connected.

Einstein showed how matter can be simultaneously be defined as a solid (particle) and as a force field (wave)
E=MC shows that the universe is one indivisible dynamic whole in energy and matter in which they are interchangeable and not independent elements.

This has been a brief introduction into the world of quantum physics and communication. There is so much more to this amazing world that can open you up to a world of possibilities.
