Several iPad Users Complain of Wi-Fi Connectivity Issues

Even as tens of thousands of Apple fans wait to lay their hands on the iPad, many of those who have already purchased it in the US are highly dissatisfied with the new gadget’s Wi-Fi connectivity.

Apple sold more than 300,000 iPads on April 3, the first day of the tablet’s sales. However, a large number of users are now complaining of iPad’s poor Wi-Fi connectivity, which makes it difficult to log online and stay connected. Several iPad users say Wi-Fi signals are weak even in areas where there are no usually no connectivity problems with an iPhone.

While Apple has admitted a possible problem with the iPad the real issue has not been identified until now. Some users say the problem is caused by the improper positioning of the Wi-Fi antenna while others feel a software update could resolve the issue.

For the time being, Apple has asked users to divide dual-band routers into two separate networks or reset the iPad’s network settings. It has also given some other suggestions all of which involve playing around with the router - a choice not available to you if you need to connect to a public Wi-Fi network.

These problems with the device’s connectivity may have a negative impact on iPad sales, especially since Apple has not been very forthcoming with a solution. Speculations about a complete recall are also doing the rounds. However, at present most of the users are blaming the problem on the iPad.
