Our playoffs Play after every season. Here is the playoff description:
How do the Playoffs Play?
At league end all qualifiers who have won the minimum # of matches as determined by the division report web page will have qualified for the single elimination tournament to crown a winner.
Tourney are Skill Level Based
Tournaments are skill level based; in most types we only Work 1 division for each level. So the qualifying players from the section will be placed in one tournament bracket. But, in some cases we have multiple divisions of the same level.
Seedings & Brackets
We present all the participants on the League report pages. League Rule #10 is used to shape the brackets:
Rule #10) Playoff Positioning
Regular league ties are broken by this order:
1) Overall Record, based on matches over .500. 6-1 is 5 matches over, 8-2 is 6 matches over and would be better.
2) In season Head-to-Head record for players tied after #1
3) We promote players playing matches, so 6-1 would be better than 5-0.
4) % of games won
Anywhere from 2 to 50 players can qualify for the tourney. The brackets will be produced based upon the # of participants.
Scheduling & Deadlines
In most playoff tournaments we set up a 1-week deadline to play each round’s tennis match. This is to make sure the playoffs don’t drag out due to various reasons.
Prize Pool & National Tournament
Once a winner has been crowned we use the prize pool to honor the participants of the playoffs. The prize pool is based upon the total number of participants in the division of the tourney.
* They will also be seeded according to Rule #10 indifferent of which level the wins came from.
