How to Chase a Hand
Chasing a poker online hand is hardly ever a good idea-the chaser is almost always coming from behind, and the odds are always against getting that one poker online card that you need. That said, there are a few rare instances where it can be done with a minimal risk. Say you have a King-Queen unsuited and the flop comes out 2-10-Ace. You haven’t made your poker hand yet, but it might be profitable to see the next card or two if you’re at a fairly non-aggressive table. It’s not likely that someone made two pair or even a set on this flop, so the best hand that you can expect on this table is a pair of Aces with a decent kicker (although many loose players are willing to play an Ace no matter what their other card is). In a situation like this merely checking might encourage an opponent to try to buy the pot, and make chasing your hand a costly decision. If you’re acting first, bet into the hand to freeze anyone who might consider buying the pot. Decide how much you’re willing to pay to see the next card and bet it. Your opponents will generally assume that you’ve made a hand and either fold or just call, allowing you to see the next card on your own terms.
