Steve Schwarzman — a Role Model for a New Generation

Here briefly, is the success story of Steve Schwarzman. In 2008 Steve Schwarzman ranked fifty-three on the list of the most well-to-do people in the US, however it’s his exceptional achievements in the business and finance world in addition to his donations to education and the arts that make this tale fascinating. The Blackstone Group co-founder is an inspiration and his life exemplifies the fact that dedication and hard work are key to achieving success.

The Blackstone Group was launched by Steve and his business partner Peter Peterson as a firm extending top of the market investment advice and private-equity management. As the company matured, it has become a world leader in m&a, but be aware that Steve didn’t establish his own business right from the outstart.

Living for many of his early years in near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Steve received his early education in suburban Philadelphia. He went on to graduate from Yale University in 1969. He took on a program of post graduate study at the esteemed Harvard Business school near Boston, MA. Afterwards he would join the team at Lehman Brothers investment bank. He was appointed a managing director at the unusually early age of only 31. Steve doesn’t merely give of his time to a wide range of not for profit organizations, but additionally he has also volunteered as a non-faculty professor at Yale. He is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the JFK Center for the Performing Arts in New York, New York. In addition, Steve recently donated to the New York Public Library a hundred million dollars to assist in their recent building project. They also called one of their recently built buildings after him.

Steve is an inspiration to a new generation of entrepreneurs — he was cited amongst Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People on the planet in acknowledgement of his accomplishments and influence on the financial world. His swift rise in the business and financial industries is certainly amazing, and his willingness to give to the community through his large donations to the arts and education stimulates individuals who are inspired by him.

So the business community awaits Steve’s next move. All in all, Steve has, in retrospect, had a remarkable influence on the business and financial communities and to the world in general.
