How come, as women, we always second-guess ourselves? Are we not confident to choose a mate that has the characteristics of what we yearn for or start and operate a business that we have a passion for? Who can you trust?
For most of my teenage and adult years, I’d sit in front of my computer going over a wish-list of things to accomplish before growing old. Unfortunately, others tried to degrade my dreams, dissolve my opinions, and demean my competency. My self-esteem was not as high as it should be after achieving numerous awards in high school and business school. Despite the ongoing negativity from nay-seers, life goes on. Can you relate? There is always someone lurking in the wind saying - ‘who does she think she is?’
Trusting yourself to others is tough if you grew up around negative individuals. Did you grow up around people that never expressed their thoughts openly and honestly? Again, whom can you really trust?
Trust is a five, letter word but it has many definitions. My definition of trust is: having faith, belief and conviction of someone or something. Trust is a word that carries the weight of a dump truck.
In our personal lives, we trust our husbands, boyfriends, family and friends. We trust that others will love us and treat us with dignity and respect. We trust that they will support and appreciate our thoughts and beliefs regardless of their personal beliefs. We trust them with our hearts and inner thoughts. If that trust were broken, whom would you go to confide your thoughts to?
In our business lives, we build relationships with other entrepreneurs in order to grow our businesses and become successful. We meet people from different cultures and industries that we trust will support us in our endeavors. Regardless of the strident voices for liberation, the Christian woman’s true makeup–her character–is one of nurture, calm, and service. These are the ornaments that shine more brightly as we get older. Christian character should become exquisite with age. The Christian spirit is a tempered spirit, not a spirit of temper. It is tempered with the heavenly alloy of Christ-like refinement, disposition and habits. It is only by ardently beholding Christ that we can “makeup” such a character.

III. THE METHODS OF FORMING AND RAISING A SPIRIT OF MEEKNESS AND QUIETNESS.
1. For attaining to that part of it, which consists in a patient submission to the purely natural evils which befall us in the world, the great rule is to impress our minds with a deep conviction of the wisdom, equity, and goodness of Providence, by the direction or permission of which all such evils come upon us.
2. As the most difficult part of meekness and quietness of spirit consists in the due government of our resentment with respect to the authors of moral injuries, we must take care to represent such persons in the most favourable light that we justly can to ourselves.
3. When we feel our angry passions beginning to move in us let us carefully guard against their rising to any criminal or unbecoming height in us.
4. Let us observe the direction which our Lord has given us, to express a meek and peaceable spirit when we exercise our devotion and offer up our prayers to Almighty God. From what has been said we may see that the notions which so commonly prevail in the world, concerning the honour, courage, and magnanimity of men are extremely ill-founded. (J. Orr.)
I realize that the meek and gentle spirit is asking for trouble in these cacophonous days, but if we wish to be like Jesus, then we must heed His own admission that He is gentle and humble of heart (Matthew 11:29). He asks us to come to Him so He can give us rest from our burdens of pride and self-importance.

We all have to make decisions, some more important than others. How do we arrive at our decisions? I’m in a long-distance relationship that is five months old; of those five months we have spent a total of 15 days together spread over a two month period. As in all relationships it was wonderful in the beginning. We spent long hours on the phone getting to know each other and catching up on what was going on in each other’s life.
About two months ago I noticed his calls were not as frequent as they used to be. He says it’s because he’s busy. I accept this because I know his job is demanding, but somehow I feel it’s not too much to ask for a phone call a day. As it stands now, we haven’t seen each other in three months, and if I don’t call him, I don’t think he’ll call until a week passes without a word from me.
He says he loves me. I want to believe he knows what love is. I’m willing to do what it takes to make our relationship work, but I feel I’m giving 95% and he is giving 50%. How can I make him open his eyes and see what his blasé attitude toward our relationship is doing to me?

Sydney, in Dean Koontz’s novel “Odd Thomas,” a couple goes to a county fair. In the back of an arcade tent they find an unusual machine. The top of the machine is glassed in. Inside the glass is a realistic-looking gypsy fortuneteller complete with colorful headscarf.
Another couple stands in front of the glass. They feed a coin into the machine, and the woman asks if she and her boyfriend will have a long and happy marriage. The boyfriend pushes the answer button and a card falls into a brass tray. The card reads: “A cold wind blows, and each night seems to last a thousand years.”
Not satisfied with the answer, they drop in another coin, and the woman again asks if they will have a long, happy marriage. This time the card reads: “The fool leaps from the cliff, but the winter lake below is frozen.” On the third try they get a card which reads: “The orchard of blighted trees produces poisonous fruit.”
Eight times the couple drop in a coin, and each time they receive a similar answer. They bicker and move away. Then the second couple, who clearly love each other, step forward and deposit a coin. A card falls which reads: “You are destined to be together forever.”

I work with a girl, and this girl couldn’t be more different from other girls I’ve met. Besides her eyes, her personality is one of the best I’ve ever seen, and she is gorgeous.
I recently graduated high school. I didn’t date because I know how school relationships usually turn out, so I just skipped the drama. I also believe I matured mentally faster than most of my classmates. I am not trying to be cocky, but I am pretty charming and believe I know how to make a relationship work.

Writing a book or creating a killer headline requires a special blend of imagination, inspiration, and knowledge. Whether the ordeal is like enduring a root canal or soaring on a cloud, depends on how upbeat you are. The fuel of creative vigor is enthusiasm.
It is practically impossible to create with a negative attitude. Unless you are excited about what you are doing it can be like climbing a mountain with lead shoes. If you are thrilled with your assignment, your motivation goes through the roof. You feel like you need to fasten yourself down to avoid soaring with the birds.
The obvious answer to being upbeat is to do what you have a passion for. We often think that we can go to school and learn to do anything we desire. The truth of the matter is that unless you choose something you have a talent for you will never be any more than mediocre.
Write when you are in an upbeat mood. Let your right brain set your imagination wild. Don’t correct anything. Just explore everything that thrills your soul. When you are finished, then resort to logic and common sense. Let your left brain take over and correct the obvious mistakes. It is good to write a little extra so than when you cut absurdities and repetition you will
have enough.
Everyone has frustrations that put them in a foul mood. Sometimes it seems that everything you do turns to mud. How do you recover from such low spirits? It’s time to take a break. I know of a TV technician that was baffled with several intermittent units on the bench. You may have to watch such things for days before they cut out. When this fellow saw what, he was up against, he said, “There is only one thing to do, go get a cup of coffee.”
When you get stuck on a tough problem, go do something you enjoy.
Sometimes you work on a stumper so long that your mind freezes up. If your brain is jammed with failed solutions and not responding, taking a break will reset it. Doing something else for a while and going back to it often lets you see what you were overlooking.
Successful people learn how to tell their minds what to think about. They refuse to listen to negative thoughts. This is not to say that they ignore their problems. If you are all negative or all positive, you have unbalanced thinking. If you are all positive, you may overlook the problems coming up and fail to prepare for them. If you are all negative, you don’t see your abilities to overcome obstacles. The trick is to think of problems without becoming negative. Think instead of the solutions.
How do you keep yourself fired up with of enthusiasm? Think about your successes and the great achievements of others. Read positive material. Count your blessings. Most of us ignore the tremendous power of our brains. We seldom take advantage of it. Think about where you want to be several years down the road, and how to get there. Turn your imagination loose! There are solutions you haven’t even thought of. Imagine dreaming up things that will make you rich! How do you think great inventions and masterpiece works of art came about? They were conjured up in the mind using the imagination.
Small dreams do not have the capacity to stir your soul. Set big goals. Reach for the stars! So what if you don’t reach them. You will still go farther than if you didn’t try. Success is not something that you achieve and then take it easy. Those that rest on their laurels soon find themselves far behind the leaders. Life is a journey. You have to keep thinking of ways to make more sales or improve whatever you do. That’s where your imagination and inspiration set your enthusiasm on fire. Don’t try to restrain it. Let it soar! Your creative vigor feeds on your excitement.
Give yourself time to dream. Sometimes you rule out solutions that seem far-fetched. Explore how to make them work. You never know when you will find a gem. Fortunes have been made by simply
finding a better way to do things. You don’t have to invent the wheel. Just make it run smoother. When you have a great idea, explore how to implement it. Simply finding a way to keep glasses from slipping down the nose could make you famous. As Napoleon Hill says, think and grow rich.
Fire up your imagination! Let your dreams inspire you to greater
heights! When your innovative juices hit warp speed, your creative vigor will soar in the clouds. Don’t forget that creation takes more perspiration than inspiration. It takes patience to make everything fit together. Roll up your sleeves and create a masterpiece
